In 1970 Apex held a public contest to create a new slogan. “The Peak of Good Living” was selected and 50 years later Apex is still striving as a government and a community to live up to this slogan. Apex has been on many lists of the best place to be including the Money Magazine award for the best small town in the US. Apex’s downtown Salem Street is a historic district filled with restaurants and boutique shops. Great Apex features every convenience one could desire. Apex has tons of shopping-big box, home improvement, grocery-you do not have to leave ‘The Peak’ to get what you need. Apex has top rated schools both public and private. Apex parks and rec has tons of offerings for all ages. The Apex Community Park features a 160 acre park with a 50 acre pond and 2 mile paved walking trail around the pond. This park also features many sports fields, playgrounds, and restrooms. Hunter Street Park is a 12 acre park with skate park, dog park and many sports fields. The 2 section Nature Park on Evans road features an amphitheater, disc golf, and many multi-use fields. Apex is also investing in the future with construction of Pleasant Park that will be a 90+ acre park. Apex parks also maintains many neighborhood parks making many Apex homes easily accessible to the park system. Apex also features an expansive greenway system.
